Crosby

David Crosby
Acrylic on canvas, 16 x 24 inches (2009)

One of a series of paintings about singers and players . . .

David Crosby, a famous fellow, a singer. composer and guitar player with the Byrds and with Crosby, Stills, Nash and (sometimes) Young. In many respects, the quintessential rock star, ensnared by many of the trappings of fame and fortune.

The portrait is from an image of Mr. Crosby in the 1970s, the maturing face now home to facial lines, not to mention the graying hair. The Cossack moustach and the long hair are Crosby trademarks dating back to the late 1960s.

Here's a glass of orange juice to you sir: long may you run.
