portrait of an older lady
Much is made of beauty, but little is understood about it as it seems to say more about the beholder than the beheld. It is physical, emotional,
existential, spiritual, wonderful, captivating . . . ?
Beauty in people evolves. Sure, we age, cultivate a wrinkle farm, slow down a bit, sag unceremoniously. Some reach for youthful restoration, while others are happy as they are.
I perhaps have a broader (or stranger) range of notions of beauty as I see it in rusty metal, a fallen broken
tree, a derelict building, faces lined and marked by time. This is a tribute to the evolution
of beauty in all of its forms.
