Artifacts paintings
by Douglas Laing

Artifacts are those products of civilization: tools, goods, services . . . things we do to enrich our lives. Some of them have tremendous staying power and remain in use or act as reminders of the ingenuity of those who went before us.

To use the popular scheme people, place or thing, the Artifacts paintings are about things such as machines, structures, prime movers . . . the things we touch or otherwise experience every day.

The paintings shown here are in no particular order. Actually that's a lie: they are listed alphabetically by title, but that's my secret.
